Democratic Popular Party (Spain) : ウィキペディア英語版 | People's Democratic Party (Spain)
The People's Democratic Party ((スペイン語:Partido Demócrata Popular), PDP), renamed as Christian Democracy ((スペイン語:Democracia Cristiana), DC) from March 1988 until its merging into the People's Party, was a Christian-democratic Spanish political party. It was originally integrated as a faction within the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) until August 1982, when 13 deputies under Óscar Alzaga split from the UCD and founded the PDP, entering into alliance with the People's Alliance (AP), which received the second largest number of votes in the 1982 and 1986 elections. In 1989 the party, along with the Popular Alliance and the Liberal Party (PL), merged with others to create the new People's Party (PP). The party President was Óscar Alzaga until 1986, then Javier Rupérez led the party into a merger with AP and PL. Jaime Mayor Oreja, now a leading PP politician, was a leading member of PDP. ==Election results==
